How to run a team snacks sign-up
Every youth sports season starts with the same message: "who's doing snacks?" A snack sheet answers it once. Each game gets one family, the end-of-season party gets a few, and parents pick their weeks in the first practice. Parents sign up with a first name only, so the team manager isn't collecting phone numbers and emails just to organize orange slices. When the schedule changes, the manager uses the private organizer link to rename a game or move a family.
- Put the team name and age group in the title and the number of players in the note.
- Add one slot per game. Rename them with dates or opponents once the schedule is out.
- Create the sheet, keep the organizer link and share the other link in the team chat.
- Print the schedule for the coach's clipboard. The sheet deletes itself after the season.
Tips
- Say in the note whether the league wants snacks at halftime, after the game or both.
- Add a "Coach gift collection" slot so one parent takes it on.
- Set the event date to the last game: the sheet then deletes itself 30 days after the season ends.
- Close the sheet once every game is taken so the link stays a read-only schedule.
