Privacy
SlotSheet stores as little as a sign-up sheet can work with, and deletes it on a timer. There are no accounts and no ads, and we never ask for an email address or phone number to make or join a sheet.
What a sheet stores
For the organizer: the sheet’s title, the optional date and note, and the list of slots with how many spots each has. For each sign-up: the first name or nickname typed in, the optional short note (such as “lasagna”), which slot it is for, and when it was made. Names that look like an email address, a phone number or a link are refused, so contact details don’t end up on a sheet by accident.
Anyone with the share link can see the sheet, including every name and note on it. Sheet pages are marked “noindex” so search engines don’t list them, but treat the link like a paper sign-up on a classroom door: share it with your group, not the whole internet.
Links and tokens
The organizer gets a private organizer link with a long random code in it, and each sign-up gets its own random edit code, kept in that browser so the person can remove themselves. Our server keeps only a one-way hash of these codes, never the codes themselves, so we can’t recover a lost organizer link. The organizer code sits after the “#” in the link, which browsers never send to any server, and the page removes it from the address bar once it is saved in your browser.
Automatic deletion
Every sheet is deleted, with all of its slots and names, 30 days after its event date, or 90 days after it was made if it has no date. The organizer can delete it at any time, and it is gone from our database immediately. A removed sign-up is deleted immediately too. There are no backups kept by us beyond what our host (Cloudflare D1) keeps for its own short-term recovery.
Stored on your device
Your browser’s local storage keeps: organizer links for sheets you made on this device (listed under “Your sheets on this device”), the edit codes for your own sign-ups, the last name you typed (to fill it in next time), and your light or dark mode choice. None of it is sent anywhere except the codes, when you use them. Clearing your browser data removes it all. No cookies are used.
Rate limiting
To stop spam, creating sheets and signing up are rate-limited using a hashed form of your IP address that expires within the hour. The IP address itself is never stored.
Pro waitlist
If you join the waitlist we store your email address, the plan and Pro feature you clicked, the time you ticked the consent box and the time you signed up. We use it to send one email if Pro launches. We never share or sell it. To be removed, reply to that email or write to [email protected], and we will delete it.
Pro purchases and license keys
Pro is not on sale. If it launches, Lemon Squeezy will handle the payment, tax and receipt as our Merchant of Record and send us your email address, name, plan and order status, never your card details. Each license key would work on up to 3 devices, counted with a random device ID kept in your browser (only its hash is stored on our side).
Children
SlotSheet is for organizers and grown-ups signing up. Teachers and room parents: ask families to sign up as “Ava’s family” rather than with a child’s full name.
